Plug-in models need only a standard outlet. If yours is hard-wired or runs on 240V, any licensed electrical contractor can connect it: ask for a dedicated circuit for an electric fireplace and give them the installation manual on this page. We don’t recommend or arrange electricians.

The Dimplex Sierra is a 72-inch linear electric fireplace that installs three ways: built in, hung on the wall, or set on a tabletop. Adjustable flame and ember bed colours, hidden touch controls and a remote make it an easy choice for a living room, bedroom or media wall, and it plugs into a standard outlet.

Read the installation manual before you buy. It has the framing size, clearances and electrical requirements, and it is the document a licensed electrician will work from.
